The Bulldogs knock out top seeded Pitt!
The Bulldogs’ Andrew scored with 3 seconds left to put Butler ahead 70-69.
Shelvin Mack fouled Gilbert Brown at midcourt, BEFORE the three point shot went up, with 1.2 seconds left, so there were only 2 free throws, not 3. Brown hit the first one to tie it, but missed the potential game winner. Butler’s Matt Howard, who had won the Bulldogs first tournament game with a putback at the buzzer, grabbed the rebound, and brought his arms up, drawing a foul on Nasir Robinson with .8 seconds left.
Howard hit the first shot to give Butler the lead, and intentionally missed the second. Pitt still nearly hit the length of the court throw at the basket!
The Butler Bulldogs do it again!!
