For once, Nate Wolters couldn't shoot the ball from outside. The senior South Dakota State guard was just 1-for-5 from 3-point range Saturday afternoon but it didn't matter.

Wolters missed just two other shots from the floor, going 9 of 15 overall, and finishing with 28 points to lead the Jackrabbits past New Mexico. It was the first loss for the Lobos this season.

Kendall Williams tried to do it all for New Mexico in the final minutes, but the lead for South Dakota State was too much to overcome. Despite shooting just 6-for-15 from the floor, the junior scored 21 points in 34 minutes off the Lobos bench.

The Jackrabbit star was the story here though. In addition to his shooting, he dished out seven assists to help earn the win, one that was highly unlikely according to both the MRI and Ken Pomeroy. KenPom's numbers had the Jackrabbits with just a 10 percent chance of going on the road and coming away with the win.

But shooting 48 percent from the floor can help turn things like that around. Wolters might have been cold from three, but the rest of the team helped him out. South Dakota State was 9-for-25 behind the arc.
