I know this was released Friday, but with the Penn State goings on, it was very possible to forget all about basketball. Akron coach Keith Dambrot has signed a 10-year extension that will keep him with the Zips through 2022. Kudos to Akron for placing a stake in the ground and saying that they are committed to sustaining what has been an excellent program over the last seven seasons. This doesn't rule out Dambrot being lured away by some bigger school with more resources, but if he stays, Akron could see the kind of success we only attribute to mid-majors such as Gonzaga and, well, Butler before they joined the Atlantic 10.
