Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

The Bulls have decided to move on from the long tenured coach.

In one of the more surprising terminations thus far, Buffalo has decided to part ways with fourteenth year head coach Reggie Witherspoon after a 14-20 season. The Bulls season ended Thursday in a 70-68 MAC quarterfinals loss to Kent State.

Witherspoon took over for Tim Cohane five games into the 1999-2000 season. He had seven winning seasons at Buffalo, including a regular season MAC title in 2008-09.

He took the Bulls to the NIT and CBI once, and also to the CIT twice. He was 197-225 in his tenure at Buffalo.

Before coming to MAC school he was the head coach at Erie Community College. Witherspoon was also a Buffalo native.
