Kelly Olynyk rose above all others in the West Coast Conference - US PRESSWIRE
Kelly Olynyk and the Gonzaga Bulldogs made a mockery of the West Coast Conference postseason awards. Who managed to actually beat out the full 12-man roster for a space in this year's honors?
This could be just a preview of what is to come over the next couple of months. Gonzaga's Kelly Olynyk was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Year on Tuesday, just one of several Bulldogs to take home honors.
That Olynyk came from nowhere to take this award is truly saying something. Here was a kid that redshirted to improve his game... and boy did he do just that. Now he is one of the front runners for a national All-American honor and possibly the Player of the Year in all of college basketball.
Guess he made the most of that year off.
