Just like that, the chance to reach the top of the conference has seemingly slipped away from St. Mary's. The Gaels have lost two games in a row, to fall to 6-4 in conference, and Gonzaga continues to survive and now has a three-game lead over the entire league.
Last time out against BYU, the Gaels had trouble stopping anyone on the Cougars, allowing 51.1 percent shooting. They also allowed BYU to clear more than 30 percent of their offensive chances on the glass, extending possessions and getting more changes.
Tonight's offensive challenge is a tad bit easier in Loyola Marymount, but nothing has been simple in the WCC this season, and St. Mary's can't count on the Lions to just roll over for them like some little tabby cat.
Will the Gaels drop their third game in a row? Find out here at 8 p.m. Eastern.
