AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll Week 18: Saint Louis Falls, Wichita State Steady

Scott Kane-USA TODAY Sports

Saint Louis dropped in the AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll this week after completing a two-game slide. But Wichita State held steady at No. 2 with its 14 first place votes.

Florida took the top spot in the AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll again this week, but it still hasn't solidified its spot as the No. 1 votes were split among three teams. Arizona even stole one top vote from the Gators to bring its first place vote total to five.

Wichita State was back at No. 2 with 14 No. 1 votes after finishing its regular season with wins over Bradley and Missouri State. The Shockers gained six points overall this week in the poll.

Saint Louis fell from No. 10 to No. 17 after losing both of its contests this week. The Billikens amazingly fell to Duquesne by seven, and then stumbled against the defense of VCU over the weekend.

All of the upsets and a good deal of shuffling elsewhere in the country led to more teams getting some recognition among the others receiving votes. VCU (58 votes), Stephen F. Austin (38), Gonzaga (38), St. Joe's (19), Green Bay (13), Harvard (7), Massacusetts (5), North Carolina Central (1) and Southern Mississippi (1), all received some amount of love from the voters this week.
