Stolen UNC-Wilmington Seahawk Statue Returned

+

So apparently some UNC-Greensboro students got caught on tape stealing a $70K statue from UNC-Wilmington. Now as far as we know, there is NO rivalry between the schools, at least not one that would rise to the level of vandalism as shown in the image below.

I think we chalk this up to a bad, drunk, college idea, and an expensive one at that.

The Winthrop Mascot Has Always Been a Little Creepy

I am not sure that this is as creepy as the Tyler Haws puppet, but maybe it is. Even back in the 1980s, the Winthrop mascot, Big Stuff, was less than friendly looking.

Dayton Assistant Tommy Ostrom Key to Florida, Dayton Success

+

You might not know who Tommy Ostrom is, but he was key to Florida winning the 2006 NCAA title and he has been instrumental in getting Dayton to the Elite Eight against those Gators.

Sports Illustrated's Pete Thamel did a great story highlighting one of the unknown forces behind this Dayton team's rise.

This was handed on by a friend who went to the University of Dayton. She said this captures what it feels like to be a Dayton Flyer during this run, and in life in general.
