Great Shelvin Mack feature by my favorite college basketball writer, Luke Winn.

I really wish they could have fit Morehead State into this but the ones they feature are adequate. The likes of Northeastern and Robert Morris plus Memphis, Gonzaga and Butler provide some good mid-major love early in the season.

Stewart Mandel is my favorite national writer for college football, and he's particularly sound when it comes to anticipating bowl games. He argues that Boise State could make the national title game, considering that Boise is currently at 5 and 2 of the 3 SEC teams above the Broncos have to lose at some point. Ultimately, Mandel expects the Broncos will be leapfrogged int the rankings, but it certaintly looks like Boise State is a lock to make a BCS game (if not the championship game) if they go undefeated.

The only NCAA coach to lead six different programs to bowl games and guide four different programs to the final top 20 rankings, Lou Holtz is famous for his quick wit and exceptional ability to inspire players.
