Solid look at Weber State's Damian Lillard on Draft day, With a description of how someone most people had never heard of ended up as a lottery pick. Also, if anyone wants to just hand me a $1,000 gift card to some store, they are more than welcome.
For all those who want the @raptors to take Lillard...keep in mind he never played against a top 25 team during his time at Weber State.

Seth Davis talked to a number of NBA scouts that are very busy this week getting everything prepared for Thursday night. A few of them took time out to give him some thoughts on the players that we have looked at over the last month. All the big mid-major names are in there, including Damian Lillard, Scott Machado, Will Barton and Kyle O'Quinn. My favorite comment is the Machado snippet, which pegs him in the second round because the system at Iona made him look better than he is. We all know that ESPN's Doug Gottlieb disagrees with that one. He talks about the Gaels guard as if he were his fiance. The consensus thought on Machado will surely come to light Thursday night. In the meantime, this is a strong look at how the top mid-major guys fall among the top 60.
Gonzaga's Robert Sacre did pretty well in his post-workout interview in Charlotte... until they asked him about the team. He wasn't quite sure what to answer when asked about the Charlotte team, other than Adam Morrison had been drafted by the Bobcats. He also mentioned how Charlotte supports its teams. Apparently he hasn't heard of the Hornets either.
Damian Lillard impressed at the draft combine and now Chad Ford is hearing talk of him going No. 6 to Portland. That is only if UConn's Andre Drummond does not drop to the Blazers though. If that happens, Lillard will likely slot back in to the Hornets at No. 10 where everyone has projected him so far.
The Province has a nice story on Canada's own Robert Sacre as he jets around to work out for NBA teams in the hope of getting drafted at the end of the month. Our draft profile of the Gonzaga big man is available here.
"At first glance, Marshall looks like a more obvious fit, but with Davis likely to draw double teams, they may prefer a guard who can really shoot it. If that's the case, Lillard is the guy."
