Eight games, eight losses. That was the showing by the Northeast Conference on Monday night.
We will have more on one of those losses -- Robert Morris' 29-point dismantling by Lehigh -- a little later, but John Templon has already looked at all of the disappointment for the league over at Big Apple Buckets:
The toughest losses were against the Patriot League. The NEC went 0-3 in games between the two leagues. It's hard to figure out which one is the toughest to swallow. The loss by Quinnipiac at home to American? Defending NEC champion falling in overtime to Lafayette? There were a bunch of close losses, but the results were all the same.
It is still early, but when the top of your league is not dominating in the way they should given all the returning talent and promise, that is not a good sign. Given these results, we could be looking at a 15 or 16 seed for the conference champ.
