La Salle's Khalid Lewis Could Miss Opener

La Salle could be without their new guard for the beginning of the 2013-14 campaign.

La Salle's Khalid Lewis could miss the beginning of the Explorers season due to a broken bone in his hand. Lewis suffered the injury earlier this month and will be reevaluated closer to the beginning of the season according to head coach John Giannini

Lewis is a 6'3 guard who transferred to La Salle from Delaware. He sat out the Explorers 2013 Sweet Sixteen run due to NCAA transfer rules. Lewis is expected to supplement the loss of leading scorer Ramon Galloway and help bolster a backcourt lead by senior Tyreek Duren.

La Salle is slated to start the season hosting three MAAC teams. First the Explorers will take on preseason MAAC favorite Manhattan on November 9. La Salle will then host Quinnipiac and Siena before heading to Penn State and later the Paradise Jam.
