Delaware's Devon Saddler Suspended

Monte Ross' Blue Hens will now be without their leading scorer, Devon Saddler, for the next month of action.

Peter Casey-USA TODAY Sports

Delaware and their head coach Monte Ross announced today that the Blue Hens will be without their top returning scorer for the next month.

Devon Saddler is averaging 23 points and 5 rebounds through two games this season. Last year he averaged nearly 20 points and 5 rebounds per game. He most recently posted a 29 point performance against Charleston Southern in a loss on Sunday.

Delaware is currently 0-2 on the season with a loss to the Buccaneers and Richmond on opening night. They will not play again until a match up at Hampton on Sunday. The Blue Hens will likely turn to Mississippi Valley State transfer Davon Usher who is averaging 20 points per game after scoring 30 against CSU on Sunday.

Hopefully, for Blue Hens' fans, Saddler will be back for a particularly brutal patch in the December schedule where the Blue Hens travel to Charleston Southern, #6 Notre Dame, North Dakota State, and #10 Ohio State.
