According to TMZ.com, Oakland University basketball players Dante Williams and Duke Mondy have been arrested in Los Angeles after an alleged rape took place in a Culver City hotel early Thursday morning.

The information was provided to TMZ by law enforcement officials and there has been no formal statement from the University.

The rape was reported around 5 a.m. and the two players were arrested shortly after.

Oakland lost 91-60 to UCLA on Tuesday evening and is scheduled to play Cal on Friday, and Gonzaga on Sunday as part of the Maui Invitational.

Through the opening two games of the season, Monday was averaging 10.5 points and 4.0 steals per game. Williams was averaging just 2.0 points per game and had been dreadful shooting from the field.

Last year, Mondy scored 12.0 points per game and had 100 steals on the season. Williams played 466 minutes last year and averaged just 3.7 points.

Details at this point are very sketchy and as we have learned in the past, it is wise to withhold judgement until all the facts are in place. But it is hard to ignore an allegation of this type and the impact that the loss of Mondy would have on the Grizzlies.
