The building was electrified as Mercer erased a nine point deficit with 8:26 remaining in regulation to upset the Seton Hall Pirates in double overtime.

The Bears were led by senior point guard Langston Hall. After sitting much of the first half due to foul trouble, Hall lit it up in the last few minutes of regulation and the two overtime periods. On the day he tallied 24 points to go with 2 rebounds and 5 assists. He accounted for all of the Bears' points in the first overtime period and scored 21 of his 24 points after the first half.

Bob Hoffman also had two other scorers in double figures: Bud Thomas and Ike Nwamu. In the second OT, Jakob Gollon hit an enormous three pointer for the Bears which gave them a one point lead.

Both teams had numerous chances to put away the game at the charity stripe but neither could seem to do so. The Pirates stayed in the game due to the phenomenal play of Fuquan Edwin. The Seton Hall senior diced up the Bears defense en route to 35 points.

After this exhilarating win, the Bears will battle Evansville on Monday.
