It's rare this early in the season that you get a rematch, much less a rematch of this caliber. The Belmont Bruins and Indiana State Sycamores will clash for the second time this season on Saturday afternoon, after playing just over a month ago and one of the best games of the season among the mid-major ranks.

On November 14 these two teams played each other when Indiana State threatened a 22 game home winning streak for Belmont with a 49-33 lead at the half. Belmont then caught fire in the second half tying the game with just over 10 minutes to play at 64 thanks to a 31-15 run. The Bruins would eventually score 63 points in the second half, the second highest total in school history at home, and win the affair 96-95.

All five starters fro Rick Byrd finished in double-figures lead by J.J. Mann with 23 points. Khristian Smith lead Indiana State with 28 points off the bench, while Jake Odum added 23 points on the night.

Since the November match up, both teams have made their way into our Mid-Major Top 15 Poll and also managed to drop out. Indiana State now stands at 7-3 on the year and has won four of their last five games. Belmont started the season 7-1, but now Rick Byrd's squad finds themselves in the midst of a 3 game losing streak and an 8-5 mark on the year. This will be the final tuneup for both teams before conference play.

You can watch this game on ESPN3 on Saturday afternoon. We will, of course, have you covered throughout the week.
