As conference tournaments concluded over the weekend we knew it would be "Black Monday" for some coaches around the country. One of the first to go is Campbell's Robbie Laing.
Laing has been fired as the head coach at Campbell after a decade long tenure. He was 114-185 in Buies Creek and was 13-20 and 7-9 in Big South play this year. The Camels beat Presbyterian in the opening round of the Big South Tournament, but fell to Garnder-Webb in the quarterfinals.
Campbell was the favorite to win the North Division this year, but their season fell apart with a key injury to leading scorer Darren White.
The opening at Campbell is sure to be an attractive one, as the Camels have one of the nicer facilities in the Big South and among the mid-major ranks.
Laing was an assistant at Georgia Southern, Western Kentucky, Southern Mississippi and Auburn before coming to Campbell.
