Georgia Southern has found their replacement for Charlton Young. The Eagles are expected to introduce Virginia Tech assistant Mark Byington has their new head man.

Byington just finished his first season with the Hokies. Before his time at Virginia Tech, Byington spent nine seasons at the College of Charleston under Bobby Cremins. Six years of his tenure with Charleston was as the Cougars top assistant. Before coming to Charleston he was the Director of Basketball Operations at the University of Virginia.

Byington is from Salem, Virginia and graduated from UNC Wilmington in 1998.

Georgia Southern will be transitioning to the Sun Belt Conference after next season, so the Eagles are certainly looking to beef up their program a bit. Young was 43-84 in his four years in Statesboro.
