2013 CIT Championship Preview: Weber State vs East Carolina

Weber State and ECU compete to be one of four teams in all of D1 Basketball to end their season with a W.

After game winning free throws from Miguel Paul in a Round 1 victory over Savannah State, East Carolina has been thrashing their opponents. The most recent was a 81-58 thumping over Evansville. In a game where they had four players in double figures, the Pirates jumped out to a large lead early and never even got close to relinquishing it.

The only team to have been more dominant than ECU in this tournament would be Weber State. The Wildcats opened with a 32-point shellacking of Cal Poly and continued their dominance until Saturday where they were finally tested by Northern Iowa. Weber State held on for a 59-56 win improving their record to 30-6 on the season.

What People Are Saying

It should be a good crowd at Weber State tomorrow that's for sure but I could have sworn Sandra Bullock went to Ole Miss.

The Four Factors

Looking above at what are called "The Four Factors" the advantage goes slightly to Weber State who has the higher shooting percentage. ECU is getting more second chance opportunities with their offensive rebounding, however.

Prediction

East Carolina hasn't played a game decided by less than 10 points since Mar. 19, but every game so far in this tournament has been at home for the Pirates. Going on the road, to what should be a wild environment at Weber State, will be devastatingly tough for ECU. The Wildcats haven't lost a home game since Dec. 15, and I don't see their 16-game home winning streak being snapped Tuesday night.
