Niagara will look to former St. John's assistant and current LIU Post head coach Chris Casey to fill the void left by Joe Mihalich.

Niagara has found their replacement for longtime head coach Joe Mihalich, who left to coach Hofstra, and it looks to be LUI Post head coach Chris Casey. Casey will be the first new head coach for the Purple Eagles in 15 years.

Casey was the head coach at LIU Post for three seasons going 62-25 at the Division II school. Before coaching the Pioneers he was an assistant at St. John's, Central Connecticut State and Saint Peter's.

Niagara has had winning seasons twelve out of the last fifteen years and won the MAAC regular season title this past year with a 19-14 record. Iona eliminated the Purple Eagles from the MAAC tournament and Maryland bounced them from the first round of the NIT 86-70 in College Park.

Niagara returns every key contributor from last year and most likely will be MAAC preseason favorites.
