Eddie Biedenbach has been a staple for UNC Asheville and Big South basketball, but today the seventeen year head coach has stepped down to become an associate head coach at UNC Wilmington according to a press release from the Seahawks athletic department.
Biedenbach will replace Jamie Kachmarik on Buzz Peterson's staff last month.
The 68 year old Biedenbach is a three time Big South Coach of the Year and took the Bulldogs to the NCAA tournament in 2003, 2011, and 2012. He currently owns a beach house at Wrightsville Beach, not too far from the UNCW campus.
Nicholas McDevitt is a strong in-house candidate for the job opening at UNC Asheville.
