The 2013 Saint Louis University recruiting class might have landed it biggest yet. Former Villanova guard Ash Yacoubou said Saturday night that he is transferring to Saint Louis University per his Twitter account (@boogiedownash).
" I'm proud to say that I'm a St. Louis Billiken we're gonna work hard and win big!!!" he tweeted
Ben Wiexlmann of Scout.com first reported Yacoubou's transfer to Saint Louis early this evening and two hours ago Yacoubou tweeted his commitment to Saint Louis.
Yacoubou is the fourth recruit in Saint Louis' 2013 class. He joins Mike Crawford, Reggie Agbeko and Tanner Lancona as a part of the first recruiting class for new Head Coach Jim Crews.
Yacoubou will have to sit out the 2013-2014 season, per NCAA transfer rules, but will be eligible to play in the 2014-2015. He will have two years of eligibility once he is able to play.
Yacoubout spent his last two seasons at Villanova. He averaged 2.9 points per game.
Saint Louis still has one open scholarship available to offer a recruit after Jared Drew was released from his basketball scholarship.
