Davidson and Charleston Agree to Four Year Scheduling Agreement

Charleston and Davidson will both no longer be part of the Southern Conference, but that won't hold the two back from playing each other for the foreseeable future.

The Southern Conference will look different this year and will look even more foreign over the next couple of years as Davidson, Appalachian State, and Georgia Southern depart. Two old SoCon rivals agreed to carry on their rivalry into the foreseeable future.

Despite the College of Charleston moving on to the CAA this season, the Cougars will continue their rivalry with Davidson for the next four years. The series will kick off this year with Charleston visiting Davidson on January 1. The Wildcats will make their way to Charleston in 2014-15 and again in 2016-17.

Davidson beat Charleston in the Southern Conference finals this past year 74-55. Davidson holds the all-time lead in the series 53-14.

Even though Bob McKillop's squad doesn't play at Charleston this year, they will travel to TD Arena to play in this year's Charleston Classic where they will open against Georgia in the first round of the tournament November 21.
