2014 NIT: What to Watch on Tuesday's Schedule in the NIT

What do you want to look for on the opening day of the NIT? We have you covered.

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

Tuesday tips off the NIT and we will be helping to preview the best of the best for what to watch. If you are planning your night, here is the schedule for the opening evening of play:

ESPNU

No. 8 Robert Morris at No. 1 St. John's, 7 p.m. - Read Our Preview
No. 6 Georgia State at No. 3 Clemson, 9 p.m.

ESPN 2

No. 8 Florida Gulf Coast at No. 1 Florida State, 7 p.m.
No. 7 Davidson at No. 2 Missouri, 9 p.m.
No. 5 Utah at No. 4 St. Mary's, 11 p.m.

ESPN

No. 5 West Virginia at No. 4 Georgetown, 7 p.m.
No. 6 Indiana State at No. 3 Arkansas, 9 p.m.

ESPN3

No. 5 Belmont at No. 4 Green Bay, 8:15 p.m.
No. 8 High Point at No. 1 Minnesota, 8:15 p.m.

What to Watch For:

The biggest game of the night for us is obviously Belmont at Green Bay, two teams we felt had some chance to get at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament. Based on the seeding, it looks like they weren't close, but were close in terms of each other. This should be a great game between a team of really good shooters (Belmont), and one that is an all-around matchup problem for a lot of mid-majors (Green Bay, except for when it plays Milwaukee).

We will also be looking to see how well the No. 1 seeds fare in their first games. Florida State, Minnesota and St. John's were considered bubble teams by at least a few bracketologists out there. Can they show that they were possibly unjustly left out?

Look for our previews for some of these games to run all day here at Mid-Major Madness.
