Manhattan lost a big match up last night 81-76 and now it seems as if they've lost their star player, George Beamon, for the next month:
A source tells me that George Beamon has a sprained SC joint in his shoulder and will miss 3-4 weeks

The 6'4 senior was averaging 21.6 points per game coming into last night's contest and was also adding 6.6 rebounds for the Jaspers. He was among the leaders, if not the leader, for the Conference Player of the Year race in the MAAC. Beamon sat all but five games of the 2012-13 season with an ankle injury.
Manhattan will now turn to seniors Michael Alvarado (11.8 ppg) and Rhamel Brown (9.1 ppg) to pick up the scoring slack. The Jaspers' next game is at home on Sunday when they take on a 5-9 (2-2) Marist squad at 2 PM.
