Canisius had to scrap and claw to get their fourth MAAC win of the year last night against Rider. In short, both teams lit it up Friday night combining to shoot 52% from the floor and 41% from beyond the arc.
Billy Baron was certainly the player of the game as he posted 38 points and 7 assists in the double overtime thriller in Buffalo. Baron hit a three with ten seconds left in the first overtime to extend the game and then hit the game-wnner in the second overtime. He's fast making a career of these buzzer beaters, as he did the same thing to Elon in the Preseason NIT earlier this year.
Rider was lead by Anthony Myles with 30 points, as the Broncs dropped to 7-7 on the year and 3-2 in the MAAC.
Neither team will get much rest as Rider will stay in the Buffalo area to take on Niagara on Sunday, while Canisius will host first year MAAC member Monmouth on the same day.
