Kennesaw State head coach Lewis Preston will take an indefinite leave of absence from the Owl's basketball program according to a release from the school today. The release cited personal and health reasons for the departure.
Kennesaw State Athletic Director Vaughn Taylor had the following quote in the release:
"We have no further comments on Lewis Preston. We are confident in Jimmy Lallathin taking the reins and moving forward at this time."
Lallathin is in his third season at Kennesaw State after spending four years on Miami's (OH) staff. Before that he was the Associate Head Coach at Lakota West High School.
The Owls are in the midst of a very disappointing season and currently hold a 3-12 record with their only Division I win coming against Chattanooga on November 19. They are in the middle of a seven game losing streak and have not won since November 26 against Truett McConnell.
After losing 86-66 to Jacksonville last night and dropping to 2-0 in Atlantic Sun play, the Owls will host East Tennessee State this Saturday.
