Arizona held onto the top spot in the AP Top 25 poll for its fifth straight week as the Wildcats improved to 15-0 for the season. Syracuse continued to earn five first place votes.
As the beneficiary of several top 10 losses, Wichita State moved up to No. 6 this week, as the Shockers improved to 15-0.
Massachusetts and Gonzaga round out the rest of the ranked mid-majors. The Minutemen moved to No. 19 while Gonzaga is up to No. 22. Both have quite a bit of work to do to move higher than that though. The drop off in voting totals between 17 and 18 is quite steep and would require some ground-shaking win or loss to really move the needle.
Harvard, Saint Louis, George Washington and Toledo also received votes this week.
