Florida Gulf Coast is off to a 4-0 start and has been knocking on the door of our MMM15 rankings. Joe Dooley's Eagles did take a bit of a hit Monday though when he announced that senior guard Jamail Jones will be suspended three games for a violation of team rules.
Jones sat out Monday nights win over Marist in the first round of the Gulf Coast Showcase. He'll miss Tuesday's game against San Francisco in the tournament's semi-final round and a Wednesday match up with either Green Bay or Evansville.
The 6'6 guard came debuted in Fort Myers a year ago after transferring from Marquette. He was averaging 14 points and 9 rebounds per game in the Eagles first three contests. Jones should be back this Sunday when Florida Gulf Coast travels to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to take on the South Dakota State Jackrabbits.
This is certainly a blow to the Eagles who are hoping for a strong showing in the inaugural Gulf Coast Showcase.
