Kentucky's win over Louisville further cemented the Wildcats into the No. 1 spot in the AP Poll for Week 8. Big Blue garnered all 65 first place votes again.
Duke held onto the No. 2 spot over an idle week. Virginia jumped up to No. 3, followed by Wisconsin and Louisville.
Gonzaga moved up to No. 7 this week, after defeating BYU in its conference opener. The Cougars tested the Zags, but couldn't quite push past them. Wichita State dropped to No. 16 after losing in the finals of the Diamond Head Classic to George Washington, and struggling more than most people likely assumed they would against Hawaii.
Northern Iowa held strong at No. 23.
Other mid-majors receiving votes this week were VCU, George Washington, Old Dominion, Army and Davidson.
