Due to some strange scheduling from the conference office, the Pilots will play their final four games on the road. That means today, one day after Valentine's Day, is senior day. Four seniors are on the Pilots' roster though only Ryan Nicholas is a typical starter.
Keep an eye on the other three seniors as well. Guard Korey Thieleke brings athleticism off the bench. Guard Tanner Riley lost his job to freshman Alec Wintering, and has played only 11 games this season, but is still averaging over 12 minute per game for his career. The final senior is forward John Bailey, who has appeared in six games this season.
Pepperdine currently sits in fifth place with Portland just half a game behind. The conference tournament implications of this game are huge. The six seed plays its first game against the three seed while the five seed plays the four seed. That means the six seed will almost certainly play BYU or Saint Mary's as opposed to San Francisco or some other team.
