One of these days, I am going to look back on the season and look at how Army finished in third in the conference, or fourth in the conference and wonder why I ever picked them to finish at the top of the Patriot League.
But if you look at the actual results, the Black Knights haven't been that far away from this being a reality. They lost to American like everyone else, but the score belies how close that game actually was.
They lost heartbreakers to Holy Cross and Boston University.
They are so close to being the team that the numbers showed could take home the championship in this league.
Army might still triumph in the Patriot League Tournament -- their offense is that good. And then maybe I can take a little satisfaction in my pick, even if it isn't technically correct.
