Mike Dunlap Hired at Loyola Marymount

Just a day after moving on from the Max Good era Loyola Marymount has filled their head coaching vacancy with former NBA head coach Mike Dunlap.

Well that didn't take long...

One day after Loyola Marymount decided not to renew Max Good's contract they have hired former NBA head coach Mike Dunlap.

"I love the challenge of coming to LMU, and love the fact I am going back home," Dunlap said in a statement. "I am really comfortable with the Southern California and Northern California student-athlete that is going to end up at LMU, and I think this is a great fit." Dunlap said in a release from the school.

Dunlap was last the coach of the Charlotte Bobcats but has also been an assistant coach for Arizona, Oregon, St. John's, and the Denver Nuggets. He was the head coach at Division II Metro State where he was 248-50 and won two national championships.

"I am very excited at the prospect of Mike Dunlap leading the Lions into the future," "Mike brings to the position a wealth of experience both as a head coach and as an assistant working under and with some of the best coaches in the collegiate and professional basketball world."athletic director Dr. William Husak said in a release.
