Steve Masiello is the latest mid-major coach to bolt after making the NCAA Tournament as Manhattan's 37 year old coach will accept the head coaching job at South Florida.

Masiello was an assistant at Manhattan from 2001 to 2005 before working under his former head coach and mentor Rick Pitino at Louisville from 2005 to 2011. In 2011 Masiello accepted the head coaching position for Manhattan and lead the Jaspers to a 60-39 mark over three seasons. Manhattan was 25-8 this season and won the MAAC Tournament to gain an NCAA Tournament birth. The Jaspers fell to Louisville 71-64 last week.
Masiello will take over for Stan Heath at South Florida after back to back 12 win seasons for the Bulls. Heath spent seven years at the Tampa based school and only made one NCAA Tournament appearance.
The Jaspers next hire will be their fourth head coach in less than a decade. Bobby Gonzalez was the last to leave for a "bigger" job when he took the Seton Hall position in 2006-07.
