Well I didn't see this one coming...
There have been plenty of rumors swirling about who would fill the head coach vacancy left at Tulsa when Danny Manning bolted for the ACC and Wake Forest. One unexpected name that has surfaced is current Missouri head coach Frank Haith.
According to multiple outlets, Haith is deep into negotiations with the Golden Hurricane and is expected to be named their head coach shortly. The move is a bit odd because Haith has no direct connections on the surface with Tulsa. Before becoming the head coach at Miami, and later Missouri, Haith was an assistant at Elon, Wake Forest, UNC Wilmington, Texas A&M, Penn State, and Texas.
Haith is 77-29 in his three years at Missouri and is 206-129 all-time as a head coach. In 2012 Haith was named the Big XII and national Coach of the Year.
UPDATE: Haith has agreed to be the next coach of the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
