It didn't take former Kansas star Danny Manning long to climb up the coaching ladder. After a week of courtship, Tulsa will be looking for a new head coach, as Manning is heading to Wake Forest. Manning was 38-29 in two seasons at the helm for the Golden Hurricane and lead them to the Conference USA Tournament and an NCAA Tournament berth this year. Tulsa lost as a 13 seed to UCLA 76-59 on March 21st.
Wake Forest was just 51-76 in four years under Jeff Bzdelik, who replaced Dino Gaudio for the Demon Deacons. Manning previously replaced Doug Wojcik, who left Tulsa for the College of Charleston after becoming the school's winningest head coach ever with a 140-92 mark in seven seasons.
Manning will look to lead the Demon Deacons back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010 under Gaudio. Tulsa will begin a national search for Manning's replacement.
