The Florida Atlantic Owls have found their replacement for former head coach Mike Jarvis and it's former NBA head coach Michael Curry. After playing professionally overseas and in the NBA for nearly 15 years obtained his masters degree at VCU.
He then served as an assistant under Flip Saunders for the Detroit Pistons in 2007 before being named the head coach the next season. Curry was 39-43 as the head coach for the Pistons for one year and was replaced by Clevland Cavalier's assistant John Kuester. Curry was the associate head coach for the Philadelphia 76ers from 2010 to 2013.
FAU was 10-22 under Jarvis this past year and has had only one winning season in their past seven campaigns. The Owls made their lone NCAA appearance in 2002 under Sidney Green. Curry will be the Owls fifth head coach over the past ten seasons. This past year was their first in Conference USA.
