Southeastern Louisiana has decided to replace longtime head coach Jim Yarborough with junior college coach Jay Ladner. Ladner is the head coach at Jones Junior College in Mississippi where he was 28-5 this past season and lead the Bobcats to the National Junior College Championship.
Ladner only spent two seasons at the junior college level but was 45-13 in those two years. All in all he's 539-194 as a head coach which includes stops at St. Stanislaus High School, Oak Grove High School and Jones County Junior College. He won the 2011 Class 4A State Championship in Mississippi.
Southeastern Louisiana has not had a winning season since 2011 when they were 15-14. The past three seasons they've averaged just over 12 wins per season. The Lions closed this last season losing 8 of their last 11 games.
It'll certainly be interested to see how a guy that was coaching high school just two years ago does at the college level.
