John Brown Leaving High Point After This Season

In a bit of a surprise it sounds like this will be John Brown's final year at High Point.

The reigning Big South Player of the Year John Brown sounds like he's about to suit up for his final season at High Point this year. When asked if this is his last year in the purple and black on Instagram, Brown replied "Yea".

This will be Brown's fourth year at High Point but he's a redshirt junior after coming to campus as a partial qualifier in 2011. His freshman year he was named Big South Freshman of the Year after averaging 16.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. Last year he increased those numbers posting 19.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game and was named the conference's Player of the Year.

Although Brown has lead the Panthers to the North Division title in both of his active seasons, High Point has not progressed past the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.

Brown is expected to pursue a pro career after this season.
