Bradley's Xzavier Taylor Suffers Stress Fracture, Auston Barnes Arrested

The Bradley Braves did not have a good weekend as one starter went to jail and another suffered a seemingly serious injury.

It wasn't a good Monday for Bradley Braves fans as we learned that Xzavier Taylor, who is slated to start at center, suffered a stress fracture.  It didn't get better when news leaked of senior forward Auston Barnes being arrested on Monday as well (no word on if KABOOM! was involved).

Barnes, who averaged over 8 points and 5 rebounds per game last year, was arrested by campus police on domestic battery charges.  In a statement head coach Geno Ford said:

"I am aware of Auston’s arrest early Sunday morning and it is a disappointing situation. I want to make sure that I know the complete story and we are just in the beginning stages of gathering information."

Taylor's injury is to his right foot and there is still a chance that he may have surgery on the injury. If things go well then Ford said that the Braves could have him back in mid-to-late September. Taylor averaged over 3 points and 3 rebounds a year ago.
