The Kentucky Wildcats continued to hold their spot at the top of the AP Poll this week, this time earning 64 of the 65 first place votes. The lone holdout went to Virginia who kept up with Big Blue at No. 2, despite a scare against Virginia Tech.
At No. 3 is Gonzaga, who won twice more this week to become the first team in the country with 20 wins. The Bulldogs trounced St. Mary's 68-47, and then followed that on Saturday with a 91-60 victory over Pacific. They face Portland this week before stepping out of conference for a showdown with Memphis.
Duke and Wisconsin round out the top 5.
Wichita State moved up two spots to No. 12 after wins over Missouri State and Drake. The Shockers will face Loyola before a big showdown with No. 18 Northern Iowa.
The Panthers moved up two spots despite needing to survive against Indiana State and Illinois State this past week. They face Southern Illinois before the Saturday showdown.
