Gonzaga will be a 2-seed in the South region, playing North Dakota State in the 2015 NCAA Tournament on Friday.
Gonzaga enters the tournament with a 32-2 record including a 17-1 mark in West Coast Conference play. Only Arizona and BYU, both tournament teams, managed to clip the Zags this season.
The Zags avenged their loss to BYU with a 91-75 victory over the Cougars in the WCC Tournament final. That victory clinched the conference's automatic bid for the Zags, assuring them of a 17th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament and their 18th overall (all since 1995).
Gonzaga enters the tournament with an RPI of 8 and a strength of schedule of 88. Their non-conference strength of schedule ranks 17th. Gonzaga went 6-2 against the RPI top-50 and 9-2 against the top-100.
Until losing to BYU in the regular season finale the Zags were projected by many to be the one seed in the West. That loss dropped them to the two line, but they manage to stay in the Northwest for their first weekend.
