VCU is dancing for the sixth straight year as the Rams grabbed the 10-seed in the West region where they'll face the Oregon State Beavers. The Rams first round game will be in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The Rams finished their conference season today with a 87-74 loss to St. Joseph's in the Atlantic 10 Championship. Will Wade's squad went 24-10 and tied for an Atlantic 10 regular season title with a 14-4 mark in conference play.
An RPI of 36 is where the Rams finished after their loss on Sunday afternoon. VCU only played St. Joe's, Dayton, and St. Bonaventure once in the regular season scoring Top 50 wins over each team. Outside of Atlantic 10 play Wade's team took down Middle Tennessee State and Buffalo for Top 100 wins but missed opportunities against Duke, Wisconsin, Florida State, Georgia Tech, and Cincinnati to really bolster their at-large resume.
Most bracketologist had VCU as a ten or eleven seed coming into their game this afternoon.
