Although the college basketball season has yet to even start, one of the topics that is constantly discussed is each team’s potential NBA Talent. Well, DraftExpress released its latest 2017 NBA mock draft recently, which stirred up plenty of intrigue.

The mid-major conferences found themselves well represented with a few players making the cut, including a handful of decent projections. Obviously, that speaks to just how exciting this season should be for mid-major fans.

Here’s a full look at the mid-major players listed below.

Mid-Majors In 10/4 DraftExpress 2017 NBA Mock Draft:

  • #41 - Cameron Oliver (Nevada)
  • #43 - Alec Peters (Valparaiso)

There certainly was nothing surprising about seeing either of these players make the list considering the seasons they each put up last season. If either can continue that success, expect some big things heading into next season.

During Nevada’s run to the postseason, Oliver was one of the more productive players on the team and was an exceptional rebounding. In particular, his impressive 9.7 offensive and 22.5 defensive rebounding rates were big boosts to the team and his 8.8 block rate helped as well.

Peters was one of the most hyped players this offseason and posted a blistering 127.1 offensive rating over last season. When that’s added into his 19.5 defensive rebounding rate and 43.8 percent shooting from three-point range, it’s easy to see why Peters looks like a major NBA prospect.
