Former UAB forward Cameron Moore passed away on Wednesday while playing in Macedonia, according to multiple reports. He was 25.

Moore was in his first training session with AV Ohrid, a first division team in Macedonia. He reportedly collapsed after dunking then attempting to run back down the court.

While Moore was playing in the NBA Developmental League in 2014-15, he was diagnosed with cardiomegaly, more commonly referred to as an enlarged heart.

Moore burst onto the national scene as a standout four-year player at UAB, a collegiate career that culminated in 2011-12, when he averaged 16.1 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game. The 2011-12 preseason Conference USA Player of the Year amassed 73 total blocks that season, putting him in the top 25 nationally.

After graduation, Moore spent time playing in the Ukraine and appeared on Summer League teams for the New Orleans Pelicans and New York Knicks.
