Could Mark Pope and Utah Valley have had a better week?

The Wolverines rallied from a 27-point deficit to beat Denver, good for the biggest comeback in program history. That was just the appetizer for a break-neck game against BYU.

UVU has plenty of Cougar flavor. Pope was an assistant under Dave Rose and forward Isaac Neilson, the WAC player of the week, is a BYU transfer. They weren’t friendly on their former team, as the Wolverines scored 114 points, hit a school-record 18 three’s and stunned BYU at the Marriott Center.

Their encore? A trip to Washington State, which just dropped a game at home to dormant San Jose State. UVU plays incredibly fast and takes (and makes) a lot of three’s. You may not want to miss that game.
