Thursday TV Schedule: A big game for Columbia in the east, then some Pac-12 After Dark

The best way to start December is with a night of mid-major basketball.

NCAA Basketball: Columbia at Northwestern Caylor Arnold-USA TODAY Sports

Every night it seems there are a couple of games that could raise some eyebrows. On Thursday, those games will come in the form of a pair of prominent mid-major teams with shots at pulling a big-time upset.

Columbia visits defending Big East champion Seton Hall to start things off at 7 p.m. ET. The Lions came into the season with high expectations, but are still looking for a signature win to send them into Ivy League play with momentum. They’re led by upperclassmen Nate Hickman and Luke Petrasek and will try and rebound from a tough loss to Hofstra on Tuesday.

After that, Stephen F. Austin visits Arkansas for a 9 p.m. tip in a brave buy game for the Razorbacks to schedule. The Lumberjacks have stumbled out of the gate in the Kyle Keller era, however, highlighted by an ugly loss to Louisiana Monroe on Monday.

At the same time, Gonzaga gets what should be an easy game against Mississippi Valley, while Montana State visits Utah in an early season edition of Pac-12 After Dark.
