Monday TV schedule: San Diego State is desperate and all your streaming/watching needs

Things haven’t gone well for the Aztecs lately.

NCAA Basketball: Arizona State at San Diego State Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Viejas Arena wasn’t kind to the home team last Saturday.

“To me personally, I don’t pay attention to it,” he said. “But it’s not something you want to hear being the home team, hearing your home crowd boo you. But at the end of the day, the home fans don’t control how we play. That’s on us.”

That was San Diego State guard Trey Kell talking to the San Diego Union-Tribune about the reaction of some Aztec fans to their teams’ disappointing loss to Arizona State.

“Disappointment” has been the theme over the past week and a half. SDSU is riding a three-game losing streak that has zapped its at-large hopes, and has just two chances left to create momentum heading into MWC play.

Lucky for them, that first chance comes tonight against Alabama State. The 1-7 Hornets (KenPom #331) are replacing their leading scorer and rebounder from a season ago, and aside from solid work on the glass, have struggled across the board.

It could be an opportunity for the Aztecs to get fat where it matters. SDSU has gotten inconsistent offensive production from big men Zylan Cheatham and, especially, Malik Pope. The Hornets have allowed teams to shoot 54.7 percent on two-point field goals this season and don’t give significant minutes to anyone over 6’6.

If there’s a game for the Aztec bigs to get on track, this is it.
