Morehead State is heading to the semifinals of the College Basketball Invitational on the strength of a balanced scoring attack and good ball distribution. The Eagles led by 57-54 midway through the second half, but pulled away to a 82-72 victory over Duquesne.

Four Eagles reached double figures for Sean Woods. Brent Arrington led the way with 17 points, Xavier Moon tallied 15 while knocking down three shots from 3-point distance. DeJuan Marrero, who scored seven points in that decisive final ten minutes finished with 14, and Corban Collins picked up 10 points.

Morehead played team basketball handing out 18 assists. Collins led the way with six.

The Eagles (21-12) move to the Wednesday semifinals against an opponent still to be determined.

Duquesne (17-17) of the A-10 Conference, was led by Micah Mason's 24 points and Derrick Colter's 16. The 6-2 Mason finishes his collegiate career with over 1,200 points and as one of the very best 3-point shooters in NCAA history. He entered the season with a shooting percentage of 0.492 from long distance, and shot 42.3 percent this season. His three-year total of 3-pointers made was 271.

Morehead ran their record at Johnson Arena to 13-2, before a spring-break reduced crowd of 1,387. With this year's two CBI wins, the Eagles are 3-2 all-time in the event.
