Roasting and bidding adieu to the Saint Louis Billiken

Saint Louis will introduce a new look Wednesday night.

As part of a rebranding effort, Saint Louis University will introduce a new look for its mascot on Wednesday when the Billikens host UMass. The school conducted an online poll in the fall for a new design, and the new look will reflect the results. The university provided a sneak peek at the mascot at a football game last September.

That’s not bad! The Billiken mascot is supposed to bring good luck, and hopefully the new mascot brings good fortune to the school.

However, the best part of the new mascot is that it isn’t the creepy looking one that it’s been trotting out to events for years. I mean, just look at this thing!

So, to honor the Billiken on its way out, I’m going to roast it. Please hold the boos until the end.

DISCLAIMER: These jokes will not be good, and are meant in good fun.

Hey Billiken, Voldemort called. He wants his nose back.

Do those ears get cell service?

You might want to find a new barber. The Donald Trump haircut isn’t doing it for ya.

If you’re supposed to bring good luck, why is your basketball team 5-14?

The Billiken looks like it auditioned for the part of the Michelin Man, but didn’t get it and had to settle for this gig.

I’d have that same half-smile on my face too if I had to share a city with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Your head looks like an egg. That’s it. That’s the joke.

Hey Billiken, save some forehead for the rest of us.

I saw an ad in the paper for Buy One Get One on eyebrows. You should look into that.

Has the Billiken ever seen sunlight? Seriously, somebody get it to a tanning bed.

In all honesty, we will miss this rendition of the Billiken. It had a good run, and we wish it the best of luck during its retirement. Let’s end by remembering a couple of the Billiken’s great moments.
