Mid-Major Madness Power Rankings: 3 new teams join the poll, while Oakland and Nevada jump

This weekend’s games had major power rankings implications.

Between an epic comeback out west, some great #MACtion, and a Horizon League rivalry, there were plenty of reasons for a shakeup in our Power Rankings.

And that’s exactly what we got.

Sure, the top four stayed the same, with Gonzaga remaining the unanimous No. 1, but the real excitement came further down. Nevada jumped four spots after coming back from 25 down to beat New Mexico, while Boise State entered the poll by beating San Diego State.

Oh, and remember the Valpo or Oakland debate? For now, the edge goes to the Grizzlies who won the first head-to-head matchup between the two teams on Friday and overtook the Crusaders in the rankings.
